That Paper Planes Song

I first heard this song being played on the Pineapple Express movie trailer.

Never had I heard of "M.i.a." before this.

The lyrics are supposedly about killing and stealing from drug dealers. This song works not because of those ridiculously messed up lyrics that sound like she came up with them while spending hours constipated on the toilet. This song works because of the sampling taken from the very beginning of that otherwise boring song from The Clash, Straight to Hell.

M.i.a.'s painfully apparent untrained singing style is similar to that of respected Chinese American crooner, William Hung. Think of the appreciative value audiences would receive if M.i.a. opened for William Hung's next concert benefiting the hearing impaired! Can you say "dream ticket"?
